Dr. Trent began teaching about The Blessing decades ago. Today almost 2 million people have gone through the award-winning book, The Blessing, and countless more have learned about the Blessing from us speaking, through a church service, or on radio programs and podcasts.

Sharing information is great. But we’ve seen and HEARD from thousands of people that working through the concept of the Blessing with a group of (new or already existing) friends can be even more helpful. For you and for those in your group!

A Blessing group (or some people call them a Blessing Team) is you – gathering some friends, family, or church family together to work through this concept together. Sharing insights, experiences, hope, healing, and encouragement as you learn about the 5 elements of the Blessing – and even more, about God blessing us as well! Look forward to giving the Blessing, as well as receiving it!

In the Blessing book, you’ll read a good bit about how the Blessing isn’t just a throw away line or fad – The Blessing is our job! (1 Peter 3:19, Message version). We’re called to be a Blessing to others AND to get a Blessing! That’s perfect for a group!

We’ve met and heard online from hundreds of people who have shared insights or a review from a book or course that was the key to their “reversing the curse” and stepping towards Blessing others. But EVEN MORE, we hear that something someone said in their small group, was what made all the difference to their breaking free or really understanding how to create a “culture” of the Blessing in their home, workplace or community.  

Even more, recent studies show that the average American is down to one or NO people they say are really friends! (See our Blog and podcast on “Loneliness ends where the Blessing Begins” for more details). We were never meant to do life alone!

Hundreds of people, like you, have begun to beat back loneliness – and build the Blessing into their and the lives of others – in the experience they’ve shared in a group.

Absolutely. We are unashamedly “pro” small group positive when it comes into digging into the Blessing. But if you’re doing a “solo” climb reading or seeking to live out this biblical concept, that’s great as well. Just know that the Blessing wasn’t meant to be hidden under a bushel. But shared and lived out with others.

So make sure your goal isn’t just “knowledge” that puffs up but biblical insight that builds up yourself and others. And builds God’s Kingdom as well!

If you are joining our LIVE group via Zoom, we meet once a week for 13 weeks.

However, if you are creating your own group, you get to choose the format that works best for you!

From the book you’ll find that many groups meet once a week, going over a different chapter of the book each time. BUT you’ll also find that what works best for your group is absolutely fine!

Meaning, we’ve seen groups meet 5 times or stretch it out to twenty or more meetings! And we’ve seen early morning groups, Facebook groups, Sunday morning groups, workplace groups, coffee table groups, MOPS or young mom’s groups,  ZOOM groups – all kinds of settings and places where people have designed their group to match the specific needs and time-frame.

We urge you to build a group from your network. Friends, family, workplace, family, church, or even school or neighborhood friends.

Or you can join one of our LIVE Blessing Groups, and link up with new-found friends there as well.

Again, you can be in different cities and time zones – or on the same block. Whatever works best for you and your group can work well as you learn to live and give the Blessing!

Well, we like to think it's really fun! 

We love leading Blessing Groups, and we typically take 13 weeks to walk through the book together.

Just like you'd get if you were in a group with friends or family, we talk through the questions in each chapter, give time for processing, and make sure that each person gets a Blessing before the group ends. 

We really do treat it like a group! So it's not just us talking, or teaching, it's designed to have everyone participate and get to experience the benefit of processing through The Blessing with others.

That said, if you need extra help or support, it's not uncommon for us to find ways to help those we are walking with.
